Written by AdvantEdge Staff | 09.09.20

Your logo is the visual representation of your business and its value, so it's imperative that it makes the right statement and evolves with your company. Whether you have a time-tested brand, or are just getting your start-up off the runway, here are some things to consider when reevaluating or creating a logo:What makes a good logo?

Be memorable! - Above all an unforgettable logo is an effective one.

Keep it simple! - Be concise, you're logo should create a clear vibe or vision surrounding your brand. If a potential customer is confused by your logo, you have the wrong logo.

Think multi-media! - Your logo must be able to function in print, online, and on t-shirts, hats, tote bags and other gear you may want for your colleagues and customers.

When is it time to update your logo?

It’s been a while. - If it’s been more than ten years since your logo was designed, it’s probably time for a little adjusting.

You’ve Changed. - If your company has expanded, contracted, or changed the scope of what you do over the years, your logo should project that.

It can be streamlined. - Once again simple is usually better, maybe you already have a great logo and a few small tweaks can make it even better.

Remember changing your logo also changes the way people perceive your brand. Branding like business is fluid; and it’s important that your logo and your company are always on the same page. Updating or creating a  logo is not to be taken lightly, but these tips and a little brainstorming are a good place to start.
